If you’re a patient, or visiting a patient, your return Hospital Link bus trip is free

Hospital Link is a bus service providing transport for patients, their families and members of the public between the Mersey Community Hospital and North West Regional Hospital. Connections to the Launceston General Hospital will be added later in the year.

The Hospital Link service runs from Latrobe to Burnie, stopping in some regional centres between the hospitals, and is open to all members of the public.

If you are a patient at the Mersey Community Hospital or North West Regional Hospital, or are visiting a patient in these hospitals, you are entitled to a free return trip on the service.

To access this subsidy, you are required to purchase a one-way ticket to the hospital and obtain a pink token from your driver before getting off the bus at the hospital. The token will look like this:

To claim your free return trip, you will then need to validate your ticket by presenting it to be stamped in one of the following areas:

At the Mersey Community Hospital:
  • Main entrance reception
At the North West Regional Hospital:
  • Main entrance reception

Once stamped, your token entitles you to a single free return trip on the Hospital Link service.
